Abstract
The essence and content of the concept «research project technologies», the features of using these technologies in the educational process of institutions of professional (vocational) education are revealed in the article, namely: the requirements for their application, the sequence of activities of the teacher and student in the process of implementing the research design technology of teaching and system of their actions at different stages of work on the project. It is emphasized that the technology of research design requires students to apply new knowledge, develops the ability to act and make decisions independently, presupposes students' decision to solve specific situations, overcome their difficulties, develop their critical thinking and aspiration for creativity and self-development, form the desire and ability to learn independently.
