Abstract
The article reveals the essence of the public-active school as an open social-pedagogical system, which may be the optimal model of the new Ukrainian school; the philosophy of its activity and the characteristics of the components of the PAS model are presented, which reflects the main directions of activity and defines the ways of cooperation of school, government and community.
