Abstract
Searching of political and psychological mechanisms of the dynamics of the Ukrainian society geopolitical choice is carried out in its correlation with the state policy. The empirical base is the public opinion monitoring data on relevant issues during 2003-2014 years as an opinion of the group subjects of regional scale and specific age limits. Particular attention is paid to the period from November 2013 to May 2014. The tendency of changes in public opinion and the stages of its development from the attachment abstract positioning to a particular geopolitical vector to active mass protest political participation. Geopolitical choice connections with implicit mechanisms of in-group favoritism, value constructs, internal/external position, and specifics of information sources are marked. Mobilizing influence of the perceptions about the enemy on the geopolitical public opinion dynamics is shown. Key perspective of state policy development is formulated. It includes taking into account imbalances in public expectations and development of effective two-way interaction with communities with adequate media support.
