Abstract
The publication substantiates the expediency of professional training of andragogues and the introduction of the andragogue profession to the State Classification of Occupations of Ukraine. The foreign and domestic experience of training teaching staff for adult education in the context of professional education of adults in Ukraine is analyzed. Examples of individual projects in the field of non-formal education for the teaching staff training to work with adults are given. The authors provide a detailed description of the qualification characteristic of the profession (position) "Andragogue" for pedagogical and scientific and pedagogical workers of the institutions of formal and informal education. The emphasis is put on the need to monitor the quality of adult education services, and to develop and implement mechanisms for recognizing the outcomes of non-formal and informal learning.
