Abstract

The article deals with the educational and methodological resources for profile education of foreign languages in the new Ukrainian school, prepared by the teaching foreign languages department scientists of the Institute of Pedagogics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The relevance of the problem is revealed and the content of elective courses program is characterized. The main issues of textbooks contents and their mission in the content of foreign language learning for profile school pupils is described (1) Культура і мистецтво Великої Британії (Culture and art of Great Britain); 2) Англійська мова для ділового спілкування (English for Business Communication); 3) Country Studies: Spain and Latin America (Bienvenidos a España y América Latina; 4) German-speaking countries (Deutschsprachige Länder)).
