Abstract
The subject of information and communication technologies (ICT) integration to preschool education is widely studied in scientific practice. The theme of this article is overview of using electronic toys as ICT means in preschool education problem. The concept “electronic toy” is investigated by scientists of different countries. Let’s state that at the moment the use of such terms as “electronic toy”, “digital toy”, “programmable” and “high-tech” is simultaneous. But they all characterize one toys group only by different criteria. Data which was obtained in research on understanding of electronic toys by educators and parents was analyzed. Unfortunately most educators do not see electronic toy as ICT mean. The causation of complication of unambiguous interpretation of this type of toy was determined. My own interpretation of this toy was offered. The special role of games and toys in children life was highlighted. Features of “digital natives” – children who grew up in the information society and for which the use of electronic toys for training and education is a natural was briefly highlighted. The future direction of development of using of electronic toys in educational process was defined.
