Abstract
In the complex of problems facing the educational system of Ukraine today, the task of updating the content of school education, undoubtedly, occupies a central place. It is in the content of education that reflects those components of human culture, which society, school and family offer new generations. Existing programs and textbooks, educational and methodical aids today contrasts sharply with the new conditions that the society is moving on, and therefore need an operational replacement. It is not enough, as it is done, to depoliticize programs and textbooks, to introduce some new courses - economy, law, ecology, health, national or Ukrainian studies, etc. It is necessary to create a holistic system of new content of education, new programs and textbooks that would help to assimilate younger generations truly humanistic culture, and thus create the conditions for the evolutionary change in the mentality of Ukrainian society through school.
