Abstract
The thesis represents a new conceptual approach to education of national selfassertion in school youth that consists of substantiation of the theoretical and methodical bases of formation of national self-assertion in school students, development and experimental testing of the efficiency of the structural-functional model and methods of educating school youth’s national self-assertion in extracurricular activities of general educational institution. The author substantiates theoretical and methodological approaches to studying the issue of national self-assertion of personality. She specifies the content of the notion ‘national self-assertion of personality’ as an integrative quality-value of a person that manifests itself as a formed positive national identity through which the person realizes his (her) civic position. The candidate for the degree argues that this quality-value covers love towards Homeland, responsibility for the nation and respect towards all ethnical groups that constitute the Ukrainian people, aspiration for moral self-perfection, readiness to protect the Ukrainian state’s national interests.
