Abstract
In this work, the nature and importance of social competence as an integrative quality of personality are established, the main components of social competence are identified, and pedagogical bases of formation of social competence in teenagers and seniors at secondary school as a leading social and educational institution are presented. The potential of theatrical art in the aesthetization of a personality’s social existence is revealed; aesthetical and pedagogical instruments and mechanisms of theatrical art in the formation of social competence of main, high school pupils are defined; the social and therapeutic capacity of theatrical and artistic means in prevention of pupils’ social disadaptation is discovered.
