Abstract
The elective course "English for Business Communication" is intended for students of the 10th-11th grades. It is aimed at developing cognitive sphere of high school students, their communicative skills as well as linguistic, and socio-cultural capabilities in business related sphere. The content of the course is based on original and authentic materials; its topics cover the various aspects of business interaction and are aimed at solving those everyday and professional-orientated situations that can potentially happaen in the life of a young person: employment, business travel, telephone conversations, office etiquette, preparing presentations and delivering a speech etc. The textbook contains a vast variety of exercises and tasks that stimulate the students’ communicative interaction and their creative capabilities. The main emphasis in the book is on shaping intercultural communicative competence, which is achieved through simulation of true type situations of business interaction. The suggested elective course is intended for students of high school (grades 10-11), English language teachers as well as for students of educational and language departments of higher educational institutions.
