Abstract
The manuscript of the textbook Hebrew Language, Grade 4 for schools with the Ukrainian language of instruction, was developed on the basis of competence and personality-oriented approaches to learning. The content of the textbook introduces a new correlation of language theory and speech practice. The content, methods and methods of work offered in the textbook contribute to the formation and further development of students' skills in communicative use of all types of speech activity (listening, speaking, reading, writing), as well as learning language knowledge and language skills necessary and sufficient for improvement and development of speech skills - the main goal of teaching Hebrew in 3-4 classes. To do this, special competence-oriented speech tasks have been created. They correspond to the age-specific features and the level of preparation of students, simple and close to the conditions of speech use in real life. Given the competence approach to learning, the specifics of these tasks is the mandatory independence of their solution, which is a fundamental position in determining the results of learning and the formation of levels of communicative competence of students. To do this, the textbook provides material aimed at developing internal personal control skills by students through self-control and self-evaluation, mutual control and mutual evaluation, since under these conditions, students can become aware of themselves as subjects of learning and be responsible for the results and quality of their learning.
