Abstract
The monograph is devoted to the analysis of the problem of primary school failure as a purely psychological phenomenon. Much attention is paid to highlighting the history of the formation of modern views on the causes and possibilities of preventing and overcoming this hideous phenomenon. The author dwells on the identification of psychological mechanisms of failure, their interdependencies and interactions, the connection with the energy potential of the individual. The specifics of work with unsuccessful children in the system of differentiated learning are analyzed. The methods of correctional influence that psychologists and teachers can use in direct work with children who find lack of readiness for school education are examined in detail. The book is addressed to psychologists - scientists and practitioners, students - future psychologists, educators and social workers, as well as all those who are interested in problems of school performance of children.
