Abstract
In context of the problem of introducing the national and international artistic heritage to pre-school chidren, the article overviews modern tendencies in art practice of pre-school educational centres and art schools for children, forms and methods to induce children to investigate art pieces of the past and the present. The course «Creating Paintings Ourselves» is presented, designed for the use in kindergardens and for educating children in a family circle, its backbone authorly method grounded on the use of a manner of a well-known artist (painter, sculptor, architect etc.) as the children create their own works after the motives of his masterpieces. For the wide use by the pedagogues, the method is described stage by stage by the example of senior pre-school chilren creating their works with different materials after the motives of K. Pryimachenko (finger painting), I. Matsyk (modelling reliefs), A. Pereima (applique' works out of fabric).
