Abstract

The monograph presents a retrospective of the development of national musical education in the dimension of stating its humanistic and culturological foundations; discloses the personological aspect of its development in XVIII-XX centuries; identifies tendencies in the development of national musical education over the designated period. We presented interesting and little-known historical facts of creative and pedagogical activity of Ukrainian teachers-musicians in terms of their contribution to the theory and practice of musical education of Ukraine. We described the experience of well-known and little-known personalities in the context of stating nation-forming foundations of educational thought, art education, and national culture, the formation of human-centrism foundations of national education. It is recommended for teachers and students of art and humanitarian faculties in higher pedagogical educational institutions and classical universities, postgraduate students, doctoral students, teachers of secondary and specialized art educational institutions and all those interested in problems of modern art education.
