Abstract

The author analyzes the research of Polish and foreign scientists and distinguishes competence groups of business managers, regional managers, functional managers, and top managers in multinational corporations. The dominant competence of business managers can be selected: the ability of the management, the most efficient distribution of assets and resources, coordination, synchronization and control of business strategies. A regional manager is responsible for the implementation of centrally planned strategies and the realization of specific strategic initiatives, so a group of his competence involves the ability to identify, develop and maximize the use of local resources. Group of competencies of a functional manager covers the analysis of specialized information from all over the world and identify trends to disseminate new knowledge and best practices. Top managers are responsible for conducting operations on a global scale, so they are in need of specialized competences.
