Abstract
One of the objectives of modern educational system is the upbringing of a person who is ready for constructive interaction in a multinational and multicultural environment. Since the subject area "foreign languages" is one of the most sensitive to issues of intercultural education, the priority tasks of foreign language training involve formation of students' cultural awareness of countries whose language is being studied. A child of early school age is a subject of cultural environment (like representatives of senior age groups). Therefore, it is deemed necessary to introduce primary school students to values, cultural achievements, and culturally-determined behavior models. At the same time, in the process of teaching a foreign language, it is not enough to expose students to samples of another culture. Forming their own culturally-marked identity is to be one of the aspects of educational process.
