Abstract
The article highlights the priority directions of modern language education, the main characteristics, the purpose of the skills and subject competences of a competitive personality. The theoretical and methodological principles for the development of scientific and methodological support for the control and evaluation of educational achievements of elementary school students from the Hebrew language on the basis of the competence approach are also determined, the results of the research are analyzed and the content and methodology of control-evaluation activity on the basis of competence are substantiated, methodical recommendations are given regarding the design of textbooks and manuals using the tasks for the implementation of orientation (prognostic), diagnostic, molding, vipa corrective and final types of evaluation, self-evaluation and self-correction. Thus, the essence of the competence-oriented approach to language learning, in particular the Hebrew language, is largely determined by the approach to determining the content and methods for evaluating learning outcomes. It is fundamentally important at the same time to rely on the goals of learning, taking into account the achievements of students in all types of speech activity.
