Abstract
We investigated the features of understanding and interpreting life experience in people with cancer, and concluded that such a disease significantly stimulates the processes of self-understanding of the personality, as well as transformational trends in the value-semantic sphere. The revision of one's own identities in a person with a complex physical illness is due to the appearance of significant limitations in his self-realization. Mythological ideas that complex diseases, especially oncology, is a sign that a person who has such a disease has a false, and not an authentic life strategy.
