Abstract
This article determines the main advantages of projective techniques, such as a considerable quantity of materials received, reduced proportion of socially desirable answers, the opportunity to obtain the material that meets the conceptual framework of the respondents. The limit of their use is pointed out. The benefits, modalities of application and analysis of the projective technique «Incomplete sentences» are described. The instruction is provided. The benefits of using qualitative methodologies (the projective technique «Incomplete sentences», in particular) to create tools to examine the features of sense of citizenship and national identity among young people are justified. It is shown that the application of this technique makes it possible to distinguish range of constructs represented in the consciousness of young people regarding the understanding and having a sense of being a Ukrainian and their place in society and the state, understanding of civil rights, obligations and civil liability, attitude towards their membership in the community and feelings of belonging to the state.
