Abstract

In this article author discusses the role of emotional sphere in person's ability to develop learning activity skills in mentally retarded children, explains the importance of shifting the focus of psychological correction to overcoming the emotional-personal retardation in schoolchildren with mental retardation. The author highlights the psychological conditions that enable the development of emotional sphere, taking into account the manifestations of infantility (immaturity) of chilren's emotional sphere at the time of entering the elementary school. The author presents directions of psychological correction of emotional sphere in mentally retarded children.
