Abstract
In the article the basic principles of developing content textbook on Ukrainian language for special education secondary schools for mentally retarded disciples. Basic requirements that were established authors to the textbook for children with mental retardation is that the material taught scientifically true, but is available without a significant number of concepts and terms understandable to the students said, in a certain system information and tasks for its assimilation contributed to the correction development of cognitive activity. Purpose of the manual for special school provision personality - oriented education that provides for the implementation in the textbook developmental, motivational, informative and educational functions. Use the tutorial in the practice of special secondary schools will significantly strengthen remedial direction of the educational process, pedagogical focus attention on the child as an object of learning and socialization. And contribute to the achievement of feedback during interactions joint teacher-student stimulate activity and expression of personality in the process of improving.
