Abstract
The nature and the concept of "repentance" of convicted person and the forming factors of his resocialization process in the conditions of penitentiary institution and in the postpenitentiary period are investigated and defined in the article. The sources of research problem in various fields of knowledge: theology, philosophy, history, law, literature are analyzed. The actuality of scientific research in different historical periods of human development is noted. Examples of successful search for a positive solution to human problems by appeal to God in national and foreign practice of interaction between the Church and penal institutions are given. The definition’s interpretation of "person’s repentance" in interdisciplinary scientific perspective is disclosed. The interpretation of the God’s Word in the human sense of repentance for their sins before the Creator is exposed. The attention is paid to the experience of the corporation of Religious schools training for future priests to the pastoral care of convicts in prison. In particular, the fragments of students’ of the Kiev Theological Seminary and Academy creative works "Pastoral care in prison", in the sense that they express their vision resocialization of convicts by means of pastoral assistance search of answers to vital questions of life are given. The attention is focused on the elaboration of joint actions of ministers of the Church and the penitentiary system on mechanisms for providing common vision of person’s repentance in prison. The concept of «repentance» as a complex problem of theory and practice of Penitentiary, which has become the subject of representatives’ joint research of contemporary theological and penitentiary science is determined.
