Abstract
The article contains the information on apprenticeship aspects in the structures of European VET “classic” models from the perspective of its historical development and specific features. Modern difficult socio-economic conditions make to look into best VET practices and gain the knowledge about foreign experience and widen the implementation possibilities and use of efficient VET forms where the apprenticeship is one of them. The apprenticeship goes deep into the Middle ages and today it is a strong tool to keep the competitiveness (enterprises, training institutions and students) and reach the planned professional level in off-work hours. The apprenticeship promotes “the dive” into a profession beginning with the first training days that gives the possibility to get the high quality of vocational education and training and an employer’s satisfaction in particular. The outstanding characteristics of the three most spread in-service-VET forms are represented in the article. They are internship, traineeship and apprenticeship. The main aspects of apprenticeship in European “classic” VET system models (liberal market, state burocratic and dual corporatist) are envisaged and the features of apprenticeship’s obligatory elements in every model are outlined in the article. On the results of the research there was resumed that the apprenticeship is a flexible form of VET and it is able to fall in with the conditions of a system, it is being implemented in, keeping its characteristic features.
