Abstract

The article analyzes contemporary theories of social stability as a complex of concepts of social, political integration, communication and organization. An attempt was made to find out the nature of social conflicts and find ways to overcome them. Some aspects of the discussion between adherents of the theory of democracy and their opponents adherents of the theory of elites in political science, in particular, in the American one, are covered. Through analysis of changes in political paradigms, a new vision of the problems of the relation between pluralism and elites, consensus and public consent is outlined.
