Abstract
In the paper, one of the aspects of the systemic psycho-pedagogical problem on forming career orientations of future specialists during training in a modern professional school has been clarified. Various views on the interpretation of career have been considered, interpretations of socioeconomic significance and importance of career caused by historical and social factors as for enhancing the level of professional education quality, activation of cognitive activity, motivation of future specialists toward professional self-development and, therefore, orientation of professional schools’ subjects toward successful realization of professional career have been characterized. It has been stated that overcoming the crisis at the level of social consciousness is a much more complicated and important process than modernization of industrial production. In this regard, scholars and educators should focus on developing entrepreneurial and career competencies, forming career orientations of future specialists within material production and spiritual enrichment of significant worldview and value guidelines of average citizens and society in general. It has been indicated that socioeconomic factors at the modern stage of civilizational forming of independent Ukraine urge citizens to express an active creative position, entrepreneurial qualities, namely, at most focus on enhancing socioeconomic progress. It has been concluded that, from the psycho-pedagogical point of view, career is more efficient when it is based on self-cognition, self-development and self-management. Different directions of specialists’ career orientations have been characterized. At the same time, it has been pointed out about the expediency of using the main eight orientations called “career anchors” by an American psychologist Edgar Schein. Among career orientations of the subjects of professional schools there are such as stability, management, integration of lifestyles.
