Abstract
The curriculum for musical art for preparatory, 1-4 grades of secondary education institutions for mentally retarded students provides the realization of the goals and objectives of the educational sector as defined in the State Standard of Primary General Education for Children with Special Educational Needs (2013), a new model curriculum (2014), taking into account the continuity of knowledge acquired in the pre-school period about music art and psychophysical capabilities of students, which provides for the formation of key competencies among junior pupils those whose foundation is the mastering of subject competencies by students - the normatively fixed learning outcomes, which cover knowledge, skills, skills, methods of activity, manifestations of emotional and value attitudes.
