Abstract

The place of the Speech Development program in the national curriculum for adolescents and youths with developmental delay is discussed. The article determined that the main purpose of speech development is formation of the key communicative competence through development of its main components: language, speech, reading, pragmatic, social and cultural components of pupils (adolescents and young people with developmental delay). The conceptual and methodological approaches are substantiated theoretically in order to develop speaking and communications of adolescents and youths with developmental delay during correctional and developmental studies and training activities. The following approaches are fundamental for development of speaking and communications of adolescents and youths with developmental delay: systemic, competence, psycholinguistic, neuropsychological, personality, communicative and hermeneutic approaches. The next key thematic modules within the Speech Development correctional and developmental program, which support speaking and communication development of the above pupils, are determined: linguistic and psychological prerequisites of speaking and communication; oral coherent speech; written coherent speech; reading (literary) activities; deliberated communication and communicative regulation. The article substantiates theoretically expediency of introduction into the Speech Development program of the module aimed at formation of deliberated communication and communication regulation of adolescents and youths with developmental delay, the module content has the integrated nature and, therefore, can be applied not only during the correction and developmental work but also in training activities and after school by teachers, educators and practical psychologists. The key directions of deliberated communication and communication regulation formation are: inter-subject communications with Other in the society space; intra-subject communications in a «self»-space through personalized Other; para-social and intra-subject communications with Others in the cultural space; understanding of causes and prognosis of development of social communicative situations; the value of communicating with Other.
