Abstract

The authors state that an important part of developing a full-fledged developing teaching at the History lesson is including various visual aids in the learning process. The main source of these types of vizualization must be a school textbook. The article reveals the peculiarities of advertising in a school history textbook, provides the methodology of working with it at the history lessons. In particular, the authors notify that advertising is a valuable historical source as it contains information about products, tastes and needs of consumers and demostrates the economic situation of the country indirectly. In the article, it is considered that its use in the educational process will be effective in combination with other types of information, for example, statistical materials, memoirs, fiction, etc.
