Abstract

The topicality of the problem of research on physical education of students is conditioned by the focus of pedagogical theory and practice on the development of modern methods, which contribute to the increase of efficiency of education process in general educational establishments. The effectiveness of introduction of new physical education content depends on the productive methods developed and realized and many other factors. A study and analysis of psychological, pedagogical and sport literature testifies that the development of science envisages forward movement, one of prerequisites of which is revision of traditional positions. In physical education system, this movement means a creative flexible approach to using of all variety of theoretical and methodical provisions instead of traditional standards and clichés. This should help to achieve the main goal – before completing the school education course to form in students the ability to manage their vital physical actions in different activities and the need for systematic physical exercises throughout one’s life. For this, as Ukrainian scientists and educators argue, physical education process should be optimized, first among primary school students. One of the most progressive line of physic education optimization is rational usage of efficient means and methods for improvement of schoolchildren’s motion capacities aimed at their health promotion, physical development and physical fitness betterment. In the last years, a number of research has been conducted dedicated to some aspects of solving the mentioned problem by means of track-and-field athletics. In the first place, it is research on physical education basics, optimization of physical education etc. An analysis of pedagogical sources testifies that as of today some experience of physical education of youth is available. However, the problem of physical education of primary schoolchildren requires further research under contemporary conditions. An analysis of specialized literature proves that one of the most important criteria of education optimality is: maximal possibilities in formation of knowledge, abilities, skills, character features; in increasing of the students’ general education and their conditioning; minimal time spent by teachers and students to achieve the planned results etc.
