Abstract
The tasks of methodology of teaching a subject as a branch of pedagogics are dealt with. This science analyses the contents of the subject and the building of the educational process as far as it is studied. The connections of methodology with the corresponding basic science and didactics are being analyzed, the problems of the correct use of methodological terminology arc being discussed. Special attention is paid to the balance between methodics of teaching and pedagogical technology. The availability of a considerable normative part in methodology by no way means its receptiveness, if only its recommendations and rules are formulated on the basis of studying the regularities of education.
