Abstract

Creation of timeline refers to the traditional methods of formation of historical representations. Working with timeline promotes the formation of ideas about the linearity of time and different time intervals (century, millennium, era) using graphical or spatial images. The article gives examples of the creation of timelines in the form of concrete (spatial), graphic (pictorial) and verbal patterns. As a source of information for the construction of the timeline "Development of scientific knowledge" is used a synchronistic table that provides information about the outstanding discoveries in chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, geography, on the background of the most important facts of world history and the history of literature and art.
