Abstract

The article discusses the development of philanthropic ideas in XVIII-XIX centuries. in the context of their influence on the then pedagogical science and practice. Examines the contribution of the scientific school of academician V. M. Sinev's in the investigation of these issues, in particular the study of humanistic activities F. Haahs's and John. Howard's.
