Abstract
The thesis is for obtaining the Scientific Degree of the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in speciality 13.00.03. – correctional pedagogogics. –Institute of Special Pedagogics of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine – Kyiv, 2008. The thesis is devoted to the complex historical and pedagogical analysis of the development process of the correctional education of the mentally deficient children in Ukraine (the second half of the XIX – the first half of the XX century). The analysis of the main particularities of the process on different stages of public development of the country has been made. It was established that the social, economical, political and cultural factors influenced the development of the correctional education of the subsidiary educational establishments’ pupils in the mentioned historical period. In the research process the theoretical background of the mentally deficient pupils’ education origination in the mentioned historical period was analyzed. The analysis of the theoretical, methodical and organizational foundations of the mentally deficient pupils’ correctional education was established. The prognostic possibilities of using a historical experience in modern conditions of public development have been determined. Presentation of the new historical-pedagogical documents to the scientific usage helps to provide more objective estimation of the mentioned category’s pupils correctional education, its origination and the following development during the second half of the XIX – the first half of the XX century.
