Abstract
The article describes gender role attitude and gender approaches in the historical and pedagogical educational research. Justified the feasibility of using gender approach to study the problem of the formation of the educational ideal in the national theory and practice of the XIX - early XX century. Implemented adaptation of the conceptual apparatus and methodological tools of some social sciences and humanities to certain historical and pedagogical issues.
