Abstract
The author argued in the article that the Ukrainian pedagogical Vilna Ukraiinska Shkola journal is an important source concerning various problems in studying microhistory of the Ukrainian education, such as: biographical information about teachers; the central and regional educational societies; the types of educational organizations in different regions of Ukraine and other problems. It is found out that these aspects can be further studied in the course of historical and pedagogical research that will help to specialize the research field in order to study a particular problem in detail on the basis of in-depth and thorough study of the source base. On the whole, the journal is a kind of microhistory, or the form of education, of the little-studied period of the Ukrainian revolution, the formation of the Ukrainian state. He played a special role in consolidation of cultural, educational, pedagogical forces around the idea of national educational system formation on the basis of the best national and foreign experience. In general, the combination of micro- and macroapproaches in the study of the history of education development during the period of the Ukrainian revolution, as well as during other historical periods, is a perspective one and requires further theoretical and methodological analysis.
