Abstract
The course of the Ukrainian language is an important component of the total content of elementary special education, since language is not only a certain subject, but also the primary means of learning all other school subjects. The main objective of this course is to form the key communicative competences of a primary school pupil with visual impairment, which manifests itself in the ability to successfully use language (all kinds of speech activity) in the process of communication, cognition of the world, the all-important task. Learning the Ukrainian language should be aimed also at forming socio-cultural competence, which encompasses the General cultural development of students, their adaptation to life in a particular social environment, civil, Patriotic, moral, aesthetic education.
