Abstract
The article presents the definition of the notion "scientific school". The features inherent in scientific schools and their role in modern science are characterized. Analyzed the problem of scientific schools in teaching, scientific heritage of academician S. Goncharenko. Revealed signs and traits of scientific schools. The attention is focused on the advantages and disadvantages in the process of scientific creativity.
