Abstract

The dissertation is devoted to the study of personality factors of Social Intelligence among professionals – managers, psychologists and lectors. There was made theoretical analysis of Social Intelligence researches history, modern views on its development and constituents. There was established the paradigmal shift regarding Social Intelligence consideration from purely cognitive ability to social and personal cognitive characteristic and formulated generalized definition of Social Intelligence. There was presented an empirical study of personal factors of Social Intelligence; studied the level of cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of Social Intelligence among working experts of the professional environment "man-man"; allocated the structural and dynamic, characterological, motivational and meaning factors of its development; done qualitative and quantitative analysis of personal connections with Social Intelligence indicators; determined characteristic features of socionomic specialists from different groups; developed practical recommendations for Social Intelligence optimization for upcoming specialists of socionomic professions. As a result of empirical research it was found out that SI indicators of working professionals of investigated groups (managers, psychologists, teachers) in men and women do not differ significantly. The highest development of social skills is observed in experts of 23-30 years old; the positive development of the ability of using emotions in social interaction and communicative abilities were found in specialists of 31-40 year old. The selected groups of personal factors significantly affect on the various indicators of cognitive, emotional and behavioral SI components, but their impact is unequal. Development of general ability to understand the human behavior, general emotional competence, organizational and communicative skills is mostly determined by different factors with varying degrees of significance. Communicative speed, i.e. verbalization fluency and speech activity, determines the development of cognitive and emotional SI components, causing the easiness of making contacts, the ability to introduce ourselves, general openness and interest to knowing others, their behavioral manifestations and emotions. The endurance and general individual adaptiveness make the defining impact on the development of behavioral SI component, causing a high need of social interactions, the naturalness in establishing contacts and fast adaptation to new communication situations, the ability to resist adverse influences. The external positive motivation leads to positive effects on the ability to manage emotions, on the development of communicative abilities, while the external negative motivation, that is, the try to avoid criticism about ourselves and negative emotions hinders the skills development in understanding people and their emotions. The indicators of life meaning orientations are significant for the development of all SI components. For cognitive SI component the presence of life goals is important, which gives life meaning, direction and time perspective, while for both the emotional and behavioral SI components, it is important to meet the productivity of life i.e. the awareness of their own life competence.
