Abstract
The article discloses the moral and ethical potential of the only published book «I'll tell you a fairy story... Philoso¬phy for Children», created by outstanding Ukrainian educa¬tor and children's writer Vasyl Sukhomlynsky (1918-1970). The topicality of edification based by Sukhomlynsky on fairy illumin¬ated the usefulness that kind of child's literature for forming the moral and value notions and beliefs, which, on the one hand are an extension of the Ukrainian cultural tradition of edification, and on the other - an effective means of devel¬oping thinking and moral consciousness.
