Abstract

The article is aimed on analyzing the works of leading specialists in the field of multilingual and bilingual education. The main notions used in the frames of these pedagogical phenomena are examined. Common and different features of multilingual and bilingual education are identified. It is concluded that bilingual education is one of the methods of school children multilingualism forming, a component of multilingual education in European countries, which is complex and multifunctional pedagogical phenomenon.
