Abstract
Development of cognitive activity of students is one of issues not only of pedagogy, but the whole educational process modern school, because it contains a source of many problems: the formation of cognitive interests of independence, mental abilities and more. Activity as a property of the individual assumes that the student becomes the subject of his personal and manages development on the basis of common values, society needs. At the same time, analysis of the teaching of mathematics, including algebra and analysis principles in the practice of high school shows that learning outcomes of students, their level of cognitive activity and independence, creativity does not fully meet the needs of society.
