Abstract
The phenomenon of multiculturalism is an integrative phenomenon that is associated with the integral ideas about ways and means of the incorporation of different cultural communities in the consolidated Ukrainian society. Based on the understandings of nature the concept of "nation" as a political community of citizens of a state, we have concluded that multicultural education should be seen as a specific educational activities aimed at developing the individual capacity for comprehensive knowledge of cultural diversity, which is manifested in a variety of models of thought, symbols, values and moral standards that consciously or unconsciously shape its identity. So, considering the perspectives of multicultural education in Ukraine should be borne in mind that such a process aimed at building a civic nation just to the characteristic features of which the trust and the ability of its members to cooperate and joint actions for the public good; awareness that everyone shares responsibility for the situation in the society.
