Abstract
In the article the problem of the development of higher education in China is discussed. It reveals the main trends in this sphere of education that were caused by the new demands of social and economic development of the country. The most progressive and noteworthy ten-dencies have taken place in managerial and financial reforms that were the impact for func-tioning institutions of higher education as autonomous establishments to the benefit of the country \s economy.
