Abstract
The article considers possible ways of improvement professional training of social worker in Ukraine on the basis of progressive international experience. Creation of the system of professional selection and professional self-identification of applicants on the stage of pre-professional training, further improvement of the content of education and vocational training should be main components of this process. The author pays attention on the necessity to develop and implement state educational standards for a new generation in this occupation
