Abstract

This paper analyzes the experience of Italy in the evaluation process of teacher education in the last decade of the twentieth century. Outlines promising directions of improvement of the national teacher education today. The author of the article found that in every country of the European region, including Italy have national approaches to quality assessment and teacher education. Established that the dominant paradigm of modern education in the Italian context, it is a focus on teacher training, directed, and creative self-assertion, self-development and self-fulfillment throughout life, laying the foundations of the professional competence of the teacher.
