Abstract
Іmplementation of the competency approach through content elective courses allow : to study a foreign language , taking into account the real needs of society and the social practice of cross-cultural interaction; provide a higher level of knowledge and skills of students in a foreign language ; meet their individual educational interests, needs and inclinations ; promote active seniors determination to further training or professional activities. To a large extent, the solution of these problems contributes to the development of all core competencies in learning a foreign language.
