Abstract

The experience of Ireland in the delivery and quality assurance of distance education is investigated. It was determined that the quality of distance education in Ireland is provided by four-stage model, which includes such stages: the establishment of appropriate procedures of quality assurance by educational establishment; monitoring of the quality of education by a national non-governmental quality assurance agency; quality control of educational services by the independent external experts from the international agencies; disclosure of monitoring data for the public.
