Abstract
Modern market conditions call forth the need to educate independent and responsible employees that are capable of constant self-development and self-improvement. These professional demands are the employer’s requests. The system of career guidance in Ukraine has great opportunities for the professional development and self-development of a person, securing the possibility to choose the desired career. The proper study of the content of career guidance forms and methods allows using them for the purpose of effective influence on the students’ awareness and achievement of career goals. Career guidance technologies should be age-appropriate for senior pupils and based on the principles of person-centered education. For this purpose, a set of pedagogical tools has been developed. Their content is aimed at familiarizing senior students with not only the world of jobs, but also specific professional activities (management, execution, business) within every occupation. This strategy enables students to coordinate their individual abilities with the differentiated requirements of professional work in their chosen career and to improve their own professional self-determination and career building. During career guidance the student learns the skills of self-awareness, self-esteem, as well as independent, responsible and self-critical attitude to himself (herself). Self-improvement of student occurs when the demands to himself (herself) as a subject of future career are formed.
