Abstract

The article is dedicated to the problems of Russian educational system’s establishment in XVIII century and to the Ukrainian schooling tradition, having impact on this process. Therefore, the leading activity of one among the brightest representatives in the educational sphere within Kyiv scientific school is analyzed. His initiatives in opening schools and work organization there, his scientific preferences and views, his activity aimed to make the school disciplines teaching possible and some texts for learning, which were widely used at Russian educational sphere of that time as well are mentioned.
