Abstract
TThe article shows principal results of researching the program „New Deal for Young People” concerning youth’s job placement and workplace training. The author reveals positive and negative sides of the program with the aim to borrow Great Britain’s experience in the sphere of vocational training for unemployed. The program plays an important role in helping young people, who do not have work for a long period, to get employment through interaction with an employer that receives award from the government for their employment and vocational training in the workplace. The target audience for the "New Deal for Young People" is young people aged 18 to 25 who receive benefit due to unemployment for at least six months. The main policy objective of the program is to transfer unemployed youth from social allowance to work. The program is structured to meet needs of different types of unemployed people with different level of dissatisfaction concerning the labor market, ranging from simple barriers as to matching the needs of job seekers through lack of sufficient effort to find a work or due to choosing the wrong way of search process and ending with the lack of simple working skills or willingness to work. The idea of the program is to have flexible system to provide young people with work while entering certain penalties for those who do not meet the program’s requirements. However, among employed there are some level of dissatisfaction regarding the quality of learning in the workplace.
